5 / 7. Foot-Tricks

Below you will find our step-by-step GIF series, and at the bottom of the page our tutorial video.

1. STARTING POSITION

2. Placing on the foot

Place down the flowerstick crosswise/ horizontally in front of you.

Step closer to it with your strongest foot, and scoop/ flick the centre of the flowerstick onto the top of your foot.

3. Lifting with foot horizontally

4. Lifting with foot with spinning

Lift your feet up with enough power to catch the flying flowerstick with your handsticks. Try to catch it at the ends of the flowerstick.

If you place one end of the flowerstick on your foot, then you can also lift it by spinning.

5. Kicking with thigh

6. Kicking with the top of the foot

Lay/ place the flowersticks on the handsticks. Toss it up a bit and then kick it with your thigh. If you hit it in the middle, it will fly horizontally, if you hit it on the edge, it will fly up spinning.

Do the same as before, but this time kick it with the top of your foot.

7. Kicking from Tic-Tac with thigh

8. Kicking from Tic-Tac with top of foot

While doing the Tic-Tac, on one occasion, pass the flowerstick back with your thigh instead of your handstick.

While playing Tic-Tac, kick the flowerstick with your foot. Aim for the centre when it is in a nearly horizontal position.

9. Kicking from one-handed spin with thigh

10. Kicking from helicopter with thigh

During a one-handed spin, aim your thigh at the centre of the flowerstick and try to kick it the way you can catch it. Spin it slowly, it will make it easier for you.

While doing the helicopter, toss the flowerstick up a little with one of your handsticks, aim your thigh at the middle of the flowerstick and kick it back with it.

Advanced Level

11. Kicking from helicopter with heel

12. Kicking from one-handed spin with heel

While doing the helicopter, drop the flowerstick to the side and try to hit it with your heel. Aim for the middle of the flowerstick when it is nearly horizontal.

Just like in the previous step, only this time you start from one-handed spin. Slowly rotate your stick as you kick it. This makes it easier to time.

13. Passing it under the leg

Once you’ve got the hang of spinning with both hands, you can try to pass the flowerstick from one stick to the other under your foot.

#5 Tutorial video - Foot-Tricks

About Foot-game-Tricks

The Foot Game opens up a new dimension in your game. First you just pick up the flowerstick with your foot onto your handsticks, but you can also spin it straight away for a spectacular effect. And once you’re playing in the air, don’t be afraid to kick it in between. The best is when you’ve got one or two foot tricks fully integrated into your game. Mastering your first spectacular kicks is not difficult, so you’ll quickly have a smile on your face J Last but not least, the eye-hand coordination development that comes with playing with the flowerstick will be expanded into eye-hand-foot coordination development!

Common mistakes:

  • When you lift the stick with your foot, you kick forwards rather than upwards. Therefore, you are also just kicking the stick away from you. This makes it difficult to catch. This also applies when you are already kicking the stick in the air. So, always kick upwards until you are playing with a friend and you are kicking the stick to each other.
  • Don’t rush, don’t be impatient! If you play slowly, you play better. It will be easier to do everything according to the plan. With kicks, accuracy and timing are particularly important (hitting it right in the middle and when the stick is horizontal), and they are easiest to do when you play slowly and can see the movement of the stick.
IMPORTANT

Foot-game is only recommended with fiberglass flowersticks, as the wooden ones can break. In addition, wooden sticks are also stiff, so they won’t bounce and fly up so high. And they can even hurt when you kick them. Fiberglass sticks, on the other hand, are flexible, so they eliminate all of this completely.
