Choose Your Juggling Level

Flower Stick For beginners

Beginners should start with a model that has a grippy surface, as this is especially important for better control. It helps you practice your first tricks more safely and with confidence. Well-balanced flowersticks that are easy to control allow you to quickly develop a natural feel for the movements. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, we recommend FiberiX. If you’re ready to invest a bit more, the ProfiX is an excellent option. – Adviced tricks-tutorials for beginners: Helicopter, Spinning, Bcycle.

For advanced players

Players with some experience can move on to longer or heavier models. These provide greater control for more complex tricks and enable smoother, more fluid movements. Advanced users often benefit from heavier and more stable sticks, as they respond more precisely and are better suited for demanding trick combinations. At this stage, your personal style becomes key — depending on your technique and preferences, different flower stick models may feel better in your hands. In addition to the FiberiX and ProfiX, we recommend also the LongiX or the HandiX models. – Adviced tricks-tutorials for advanced players: Throwing, Foot-game, Hand-game, Wave.

Children (6-14 years)

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-8
Shorter and lighter flower sticks are better for children

4 types can be considered:

  • KidiX (for the youngest): this sticks are recommended for 6-8 year olds and/or small children. This simple, short stick is best for them to get started. In a good case, they will grow out quickly and a longer stick can be added. Such as the following categories:
  • FiberiX (the economical choice): this kit is a fiberglass flower sticks with wooden handsticks. Its material is flexible and unbreakable, making it easier not only to learn to play with, but also to perform more beautiful tricks (like with a wooden sticks). It’s an economical choice if you’re looking for a good flowerstick.
  • ProfiX (the best for kids): this kit is already Pro category. The handsticks are unbreakable and colourful. And the flowerstick has been given faux leather tassels, which are not only a nicer shape and colour, but also better to play with it. Even at beginner level, it gives you a noticeable advantage (compared to the rubber tassels), but the difference is really noticeable at advanced level. … and they’ve also got a beautiful decoration. They are real masterpieces – and there are glow-in-the-dark kits – among them 🙂
  • WoodiX (the cheapest option): all-wood flower sticks. They are mainly used to get you into the game. We recommend them if you don’t have the budget for something else, or if you’re giving them as a gift and doubt that the person you’re celebrating will use them. But there are some things you should know before you choose WoodiX:
    • they are fragile (they can break if you step on them or sit on them),
    • harder to do any trick with them (especially the better ones)
    • fewer tricks possible (e.g. footwork is not recommended)

2. Beginners – not just kids

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-9
Both short and long sticks are suitable for adults

If you’re a beginner adult, be sure to read the previous section (flowerstick for kids), because most of the time a shorter stick (FiberiX, ProfiX) is recommended for older beginners.

But, as you’re a grown-up, you have other options: The LongiX:

These sticks are thicker, longer and heavier than those we offer for children. These make them “slower” and therefore easier to control. “In return, with some of the short-stick the faster tricks are more difficult to perform.

Typically, you should choose this if you know you like it, or if you are not very handy. If you are (and you dare to admit it), you will have more success with a longer (than a shorter) stick.

The tassels on our LongiX kits are made of coloured faux leather, which makes all the tricks a little easier. Their hand sticks are made of colourful and unbreakable fiberglass and you’ll find complete works of art in their decorative designs

If you can’t decide between short and long sticks, we advise you to choose the short one. Typically anyone can play with them, while long flower sticks are not for everyone.

3. Advanced players

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-10
With experience, choosing is easier

If you have had or have a flower stick, it’s easier because you have experience and an idea of what it’s all about. The first thing you need to consider is, that what kind of stick you’ve been playing with. What you get used to is typically easier to get on with.

If you’ve decided on the length, read the previous two parts. Part 1 (beginner, child) is for you if you want a short stick, and part 2 (beginner, adult) is for you if you want a longer stick.

Of course, the above simplifies the picture, because if you already have a short flower stick, you can still have a long one. Those who like this game typically have several kits. Long and short, light and heavy… Each one brings out different things in you, each one good at other things.

To simplify the picture: you can have more than one stick, but you can’t go wrong with a FiberiX or a ProfiX!

4. Hand-players

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-11All our flower sticks can be played without handsticks. Any of our models are great for hand spinning, but we have one specifically designed for people who don’t need handsticks. The HandiX! We make this model in 3 sizes:

  • The shorter ones (42 cm stick) are mostly used for party props. The sticks are thin, flexible fiberglass, so you can swirl them between your fingers. And the short length is combined with a relatively heavy tassel, so it’s easy to get it going. It fits in a small space, so you don’t need to carry a big bag (I always have one of these next to my desk, and sometimes I just grab it off the shelf and spin it while sitting. Really good! 🙂 A typical number 2 flowerstick for stick users.
  • The middle version (50 cm stick) is the most versatile. It is also the most suitable for handstick play. Recommended if you prefer to play with a stiff stick. Just add a pair of handsticks and you have the perfect  flowerstick 🙂
  • The longer ones (60 cm stick) are not only 10 cm longer, but also about 50 grams heavier. With handsticks, most people find them heavy. These are recommended if you like to play with heavy and long rods (the weight makes it easier to spin, but not comfortable for everyone).

And while the above types are for typical hand-players, they are not for everyone. For example, many people are used to hand-tricks with their own, shorter flower sticks, and don’t want to hear about a longer, stiffer, and heavier stick. They can use any of our other types too (e.g. FiberiX, ProfiX, LongiX)

5. as Party prop

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-12
Party players have different needs

Have you seen jugglingsticks at a festival? At a Goa party? It’s not uncommon. So typical that many people call it a Goa-stick. They already know how good it is to play to music 🙂

Virtually any of our models will do the job, so you’ll find fewer clear-cut choices here. Rather, you can read about what other considerations you should take into account.

UV light: UV lamps are not uncommon at parties, and they make most of our flowersticks really spectacular. Our striking colours (almost all our sticks) are UV active. Only a few of our colours are not, and they are rarely used: blues, shiny silver and gold, dark green, purple and burgundy are not UV active. So if this is important, make sure you take it into account. If your’e a party face, you may also be interested in our glow-in-the-dark sets (ProfiX, LongiX and HandiX). These are just really easy to lighten the mood with 🙂

Most party players like to spin the stick by hand. The practical benefit of this is that you can’t leave the handsticks behind:), and it’s easier to “just grab” and spin. Thirdly, spinning by hand is fun 🙂 For those of you who want to have fun, consider one of our flowersticks designed specifically for handspinning: HandiX. They vary in length, are typically heavier, and are also thicker

But literally (practically) any of our other types will do the job because they can all be played with a good hand.

6. If you want the best Flower Stick

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-13
With a better stick learning is quicker and tricks are nicer too

If it’s more important than money to have a beautiful stick and to learn to play as quickly as possible, we recommend our faux leather tasseled flowersticks: Our ProfiX kits are all like this, but you can also choose one of our LongiX or HandiX sticks if you want something special.

If you want an all-rounder, get the short one, if you’re looking for something extra, get the longer one. The latter is not recommended for children (6-15 years).

These kits are unbreakable in every way, masterfully decorated and balanced, with tassels made of colourful faux leather. You’ll even find a glow-in-the-dark version!

IMPORTANT: Within a given type, the cheapest can do as much as the most expensive. The only difference is in the decoration. Quality materials mean everlasting life, and faux leather tassels make your game easier.

7. …you’re still unsure?

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-14

In this case, pick to the shorter flower sticks. These are the “all-rounder” sticks. If you’re on a tight budget, get a FiberiX. You’ll be fine with it, and it’ll take all the strain. You’ll love it 🙂

But if you can afford to spend more, go for a ProfiX. They’re not only prettier, but they’re easier to learn to play and also do nice tricks with. And if you still want to try something new later on, you can buy another model on the side.

Material comparison

Wood, fiberglass, maybe an aluminium stick? Rubber or faux leather tassels?

(flower)stick material

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-6
(1) 10mm wood (2) 5mm fiberglass (3) 6mm fiberglass (4)  10mm aluminium

Wooden flower sticks and handsticks are not unbreakable and are not guaranteed to be straight. Wood sticks are not made of solid wood and are not straight. However, this has little or no effect on the enjoyment of the game. In contrast, fiberglass sticks are not only unbreakable, but also remain straight. But that’s not the only advantage of fiberglass: they’re also easier to play with because they’re lighter and more flexible, which makes for more precise, faster and easier play, especially for more advanced tricks. Our aluminium sticks (most HandiX) are recommended for those looking for a thick and stiff flowerstick. These are virtually unbreakable, but can bend under greater force.

Tassel material

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-7
rubber & faux leather

In short: The larger surface area of faux leather tassels makes the spin of the stick slower and more predictable. This is especially important for advanced players but also an advantage at beginner level. In addition, they are colourful, even multi-coloured.

Which one do you prefer?

Decoration

While the simplest wooden kits are monochrome, our other kits are much more colourful and even include glow-in-the-dark decoration. The best/most beautiful ones are true masterpieces. And the decoration helps the player, because he/she can target the stick by it. We have many sticks with symmetrical patterns, which not only make it easier to find the middle of the stick, but also the edges! 🙂 This is how something nicer also turs out better 🙂

Cover/ playing surface

The quality and ease of play with the flower stick, as well as the speed and number of tricks, is largely determined by the grip of the cover material. We make no compromises on this, so all our types get the same material (the best). So you will not find differences between our own products, but rather in comparison with other sticks. important aspects

Role of the tassels

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-2
rubber tassel kit (top), faux leather tassel kit (bottom)

Our simpler flowersticks (WoodiX, FiberiX, KidiX) have rubber tassels, while our more extreme kits (ProfiX, LongiX and HandiX) have faux leather tassels.

The faux leather tassels are colourful, have a more beautiful shape (like real flower petal) and offer an extra edge in play thanks to their larger surface area. Everything is a bit slower and more predictable than with a rubber tassel! The better you can play, the more you feel the difference. so it’s even less noticeable at beginner level…. although it’s often that 10-20% you miss the most when learning…

This is a way of quantifying the difference: 10-20%. While learning. Later, the difference increases. In fact, there are things you can do with a faux leather stick that you can’t do with a rubber ended one. So if you’re thinking long term, it’s worth saving up for a ProfiX!

We’ve been testing brand new materials and techniques for years to create these faux leather tassel delights! They’re so beautiful, you wouldn’t think they’re even better than their beauty 🙂 That’s why the price of a faux leather stick is about double that of a rubber ended stick.

Don’t be confused by different prices within a category. Each stick does the same thing. The only difference is in colour and decoration (1 exception: HandiX, where there is also a difference in materials – depending on size).

Short or long?

flowerstick-devilstick-how-to choose-which-devil-stick-3
Our shortest stick at the top & our longest at the bottom

We have a short (45cm stick) model – KidiX –  which we make especially for the little ones. We recommend this for 6-8 year olds and/or small children to start with.

The average flowersticks (50cm stick) are recommended for both children and adults.

The longer sticks (55-60cm stick) are more suitable for 15-20 year olds. The longer sticks are thicker and heavier.

HandiX sticks are an exception, as they include very short (42cm rod), medium (50cm rod) and long sticks (60cm rod).

Shorter types: KidiX, 1.HandiX

Average sizes: WoodiX, FiberiX, ProfiX, 2.HandiX

Longer types: LongiX, 3.HandX

Decoration

A barely and a highly decorated flowerstick

The rubber tassel sticks we made less fancy. But in the faux leather kits, you’ll find some real masterpieces! Beautiful shapes, multi-level and multi-coloured tassels, even with glow-in-the-dark designs. And they come with colour-coordinated handsticks.

The product pictures speak for themselves!
